Learning through the creative and performing arts
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment. If, as a parent of a pupil attending this school, you require a paper copy of the information on this website, we shall provide this free of charge upon request.
All of the staff would like to say a huge THANK YOU to you all for your participation in World Book Day 2017.
The children and staff had a wonderful day, and we were SO impressed with the children’s imaginative costumes!
The children loved it when the different teachers visited their class to read a story as part of our 'Drop Everything And Read' (DEAR) initiative!
Thank you to all of the Grown Ups who helped with the arts and crafts activities, those of you who donated books and cakes and of course, all of those who helped us to raise funds for our school library by donating £1 or by buying a cuppa and a cake!
We can't wait to hear about the books you buy with your £1 tokens!
Our pupils are really enjoying our Super Science Week, and have been doing lots of fun experiments and exploring changes in chemical reactions. I think you'll agree, they look like Super Scientists in our Science t-shirts and lab coats! Thank you to all the parents and carers who helped to create these fantastic Science outfits!
Here are some pictures of children in Year 1 making volcanoes explode using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar - it was very exciting!
We hope you enjoyed Year 1's assembly about Bug Club! The children across the school have been absolutely loving our new resource - we are so inspired by their enthusiasm to read! If you are having any problems logging in, please see your class teacher.
We also had an overwhelming response to our 'Reading Ambassadors' search - it was so difficult to choose one from each class when the children were so excited! Therefore, we have given each child that submitted an application a 'Reading Buddy' badge. Two children have been chosen from each class to represent their class as 'Reading Champion' - they will come to the meetings and feed back the children's thoughts each week. The 'Reading Champions' will change each half term. We hope the children will wear their badges with pride!
Yesterday, we were very excited to launch our 'Super Learning Week' in school!
Mr Parker led us in an assembly to remind us all about our Project Managers which link to our Characteristics for Effective Learning.
Each day, the children will visit a different classroom where they will take part in activities led by the teachers across the school!
We were very excited to launch our #GetCaughtReading campaign in school on Monday.
When the children bring their class ‘reading hat’ home (every child will get a turn throughout the term), they will be given the task to ‘Get Caught Reading’ on camera! Once the children have had a photograph taken (wearing their hat, of course!) and reading their favourite book, we would LOVE parents and carers to tweet a photo or share it on our LIPA Primary School Facebook page with the hash tag #GetCaughtReading.
Parents and carers are welcome to join in - we’d love to know where you ‘Get Caught Reading’ your favourite books!
We will be choosing our favourites to go on our hall of fame, outside Mr Parker’s office.
Have a little look at this website for some inspiration: http://www.getcaughtreading.org/. You may see some faces you recognise!

LIPA Primary School took Eddie the Penguin and his friends to LIPA Sixth Form College this week for fabulous Christmas performances for family and friends!
Performing this fun Christmas show on a real theatre stage for the first time, our pupils put on an amazing show, and really got everyone in the Christmas spirit!
Unfortunately, we've had to postpone this week's Art Auction, and hope to reschedule it for January - we'll let you know the new date here as soon as it is confirmed.
