Learning through the creative and performing arts
The children who attend our choir after-school club had been very inspired by a recent assembly based on 'BullyBusters', and decided that they wanted to sing songs that would cheer people up who may have been upset or hurt by other people.
The children thought of different songs, and we practised lots and lots until we came up with our favourite songs - ‘True Colours’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Roar’ and ‘Hold My Hand’. The children really learnt the songs and then we made them into a medley.
We made invitations for our families in after-school club on Wednesday 25 May, when the children sang for the parents, who really enjoyed the performance. We then repeated the performance in assembly on Friday 27 May for all of the children in our school.
Mrs Williams and Miss Johnston were very proud of all of the singers, especially seeing how much they had grown in confidence in the run-up to the performance.
Well done to everyone involved!
