Author visits LIPA Primary School
'What Did Grandad Paul Do When He Was Little' is the debut children's picture book from author Marie Darwin. Written in poetry, tells the story of Paul McCartney's life, culminating in 1970 when the Beatles disbanded.
Year 2 were lucky to receive a visit from Marie last week, when she read the story to them in our library. She really helped with our Magical Mystery Tour project and gave the children lots of interesting information!
Marie said of her visit: "As a qualified professional in childcare for many years and now a local author, I have to say that the whole atmosphere in LIPA Primary from the moment you walk through the door... from the children, through to teachers and reception staff, right up to Mr Parker, are so welcoming and enthused about the children's learning, that it shines out of you all and it was a pleasure to be there on Thursday!"
